Health Services Collapsed Across Bihar As State Employees Strike Continues

Patients of TB and others long-term patients who needs regular check-up and medicines are denied of medicare leaded to their life at stake. The striking community also marched before the entrance of every departments even disturbed the indoor-services. More than 50 percent of beds in every department are vaccant while in normal days PMCH intakes patients more than double of its capacity. Alone in the Emergency of PMCH more than 300 patients do admit on a regular basis. But during the last 3 days the numbers come down to just hundred. About 1000 patients do come to OPD per day while on wednesday not a single patient came as the counters were closed by the striking employees. Meanwhile State health minister Nand Kishore Yadav has taken strict action and warned the striking community to return back to work otherwise govt. may contemplate about their term of service. He assures that govt. is looking forward for an uncondition end of strike otherwise govt will appoint trained medical staffs on contract basis. It is well known that the state non-gazetted employees went on strike on Jan 7 and hence the strikes enters 9th day today.
