Centre Abandons To Probe Kusha Breach

In the press release, the ministry reinstates that the team would now suggest the measures to be taken to avoid the repition of such a calamity in the future in stead of probing the cause of the Koshi flood.Earlier Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has protested against such inquiry as such an inquiry would have greater impact and would point a finger towards the validity of the independent probe carried out by the state govt, reports says.State Water Resources Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav had also protested against formation of a Central committee to investigate the cause of the breach in Kusaha Dam and had said this exercise would be carried out just to hide the failure of the RJD regime and the negligence to the recommendation of the then Central Water Resources ministry.Currently Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Jai Prakash Narain Yadav is the Union Water Resources Minister.
