Normal Life Out Of Gear In Patna

Updated on 16 July, 2008
"It was better till last night. But overnight all water came in. We could not do anything about the heavy equipment. We have lost machineries worth lakhs of rupees. The water has rendered most of the machines non-functional. Last year they (government) promised to build a greater Patna, but now it looks like a gutter Patna," said Mr. Prasad, a eminient doctor. Local residents lamented they could not go for their daily routine. "In just two days' rain all this has happened. It is almost like the whole family is drowning in Ganga or Yamuna. We face problems while performing our daily chores. This is the situation in our Kadamkuan locality," said, Kusum Devi, resident of posh Kadamkuan locality. The government claimed for great challenges before monsoon but the problems remained the same. We do believe in our CM who vows to work and do work for improvement of the situation but he should also aware of the result of his efforts. He must take class of contractors and engineers who were given the job of drainage cleansingLack of proper planning and execution the sewage and drainage problem have not solved. Crores of rupees has been spent on  working to repair the present system like cleaning the drains so that water can flow properly but nothing been seen on Patna street.                        Reports : S.
