Patna Law College Lacks Recognition

Updated on 14 July, 2008
It is well known that the BCI has taken back the recognition of the college earlier too. Then the BCI somehow restored back its affiliation to the college following temporary appointments and strenuous efforts made by the university. But again it has been keeping a close eye on maintenance of strength of teachers in the college. It is quite surprising that the college management have not even think of ad-hoc appointments of teachers during the last one year to maintain the minimum requirement of teachers. The management did not this even for the sake of recognition of the faculty to continue. The order of Patna High Court last year hearing the writ petition by some ad-hoc teachers in this regard, seems to have unattended till now. In the order the learned court direceted the VC of PU to discharge their obligations for constitution of the university selection committee and make appointment of full-time and part-time law teachers against vacant posts within six months. But as 8 months has passed nothing been done by the Univ. authorities. PU registrar Vibhas Yadav confirmed that appointments on all the 29 sanctioned posts, including 14 part-time lecturers have been delayed due to ongoing strike in the university. The university is facing severe crisis for the last couple of months with either strike, demonstration and hullabolo. The academic environment has been severely damaged and students is getting distracted from once biggest name in the Bihar academic circle.
