Alarming Situation In Patna

Updated on 14 July, 2008
The incessant rainfall on monday night did not let patnaites sleep, esp. to those who live on first floors. Every home on the ground floor in every mohalla have knee deep water on their rooms, kitchens, bathroom and everywhere. While RajendraNagar, Kankarbagh and Patliputra colonies were the worst hit and come to media attention every next mohalla were flooded. Reports are coming since early this morning (tuesday)at our Patna office about the worst ever waterlogging in Patna. Telephone and internet connexion has been severely paralysed and there are also power shortage. Boring Canal Road, Anandpuri, Kidwaipuri, New Market, Mithapur, BihariSao Lane, Kadamkuan (even Nala Road), entire Lohanipur, Machua Toli, Birla Mandir Road, Hathwa Market, Dariyapur Gola and everywhere without exception water were inside homes. At this juncture we Patnaites like to let our Honb'le CM roam into past when his being CM seen the first waterlogging and promised to the residents of Patna that the problem will be solved in a year time. Bihar needs a chief minister who can act and who make his government do some real hard work. We still do have hope on you. Are you listening. Patna's main problem is waterlogging due to clogged drains and a municipality that only collects taxes but does no work. The current flooding also exposes the Bihar governments claims that Patna's drains have been cleared. A total of 2 crores has been spent till now in the name of drainage clearance. The Patna High Court monitors such issues but even they have not been able to improve the situation here. Forget solving(claiming) Bihar's flood problems if any government is able to solve Patna's problems the people of this state will be thankful.
