Smart Card Driving Licence Launched In Patna

Knowingly the Smart Card format of driving license has been launched in Bihar for the first time. Nitish Kumar expresses his desire to launch the scheme for all bihar. Speaking to guest and media on the occassion he suggested to change the old DL with the new one. The chief minister underscores the demand of the DTO commissioner and assures him that the DTO patna office may be shifted to collectoriate office as there is lack of space in the current premises. Smart Card will cost a little much dear on the pockets of its users. Both the new and old applicant will have to pay Rs. 300 extra for it. The smart card have a microchip inside it just like your ATM/debit card. With the help of computer and software a host of information about the user get feeded into it. The NIC has made the software named Sarathi, for the purpose.
