J'Khand Bandh Affected Normal Life, Three Arrested

Reports from internal sources confirmed that there has been a heavy exchange of fire between Naxalites and security forces in the Gheighat village. Later, Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha informed the media that around 10 am the firing begin and continues for almost an hour. Due to strong retaliation from our forces Naxals had to escape from the scene. But consequently three women extremists of the firing squad were overpowered and apprehended along with two rifles, 42 bullets and Rs 10,000 in cash. The bandh is howerver remained peaceful. The districts where the impact was felt are areas of Hazaribag, Chatra, Latehar, Simdega, Gumla, Palamu, East and West Singhbhum. Shops were voluntarily closed and there were lesser movement of vehicles on the road.
