Are We Living In The 21st Century?

Updated on 05 April, 2008
The fault of the widow was nothing but she entered the local temple and the local people's court punished her in the shameless manner. A temple is the place where God reside and God himself never prohibited anyone from praying. On the other hand in the villager's view a widow has no rights to enter a temple. Has God created this rule that a widow has no rights to enter the temple, to pay her prayer? And we proudly say we live in the 21st century. The widow was used to go the local Kali temple which was objected by the local residents which finally resulted in the shameless act in the name of humanity. As per fundamental rights everyone has rights to live his/her own life irrespective of cast and crud and this shameless incident in Dhanbad is not only a violation of fundamental rights but also a black spot in the name of humanity. And we say we live in the 21st century.
