Laloo-Rabri Rule Left Bihar Into Debt : Modi

Updated on 18 February, 2008
Modi maintains that it is Laloo ji's govt. that had made the state exchequer blank, submerged the state into debt. All during 15 years of his party rule, the state had taken loan of 24,642 crores of ruppees. Speaking to mediaperson he made mock of Laloo and said that from a person who tags himself as management guru, he did not expect such irresponsible and rumoring statement. Laloo yadav must know that the time he became CM in 1990, the state had debt of only 6300 crores of rupees, which rises to 30942 crores of rupees till the end of 2004-2005. Out of which 4805 crores had been taken from the central govt. and rest were in the form of internal loan. His sarcastic gesture at the ill-information of Laloo prasad and said that he must know that the central govt. has closed the provision to give loan under planning profile. The loan were taken on the high interest rates in the range of 4-5% to 8-9%. He informed that the present govt. has to return the installments for that loan taken during laloo rule. He also said that the present govt. will soon make a roadmap so that the loan could be back to their respective givers.
