which have employed children below 14 years of age despite of a blanket ban put on it from October 10, 2006, under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act. Azaad Bachpan is an organisation of schoolchildren who work for weeding out the child labour menace and for restoration of rights of children, particularly those coming from deprived sections. The Bihar chapter of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) played a major role in setting up of this organisation, which came to limelight only a few months ago for launching a website exclusively dedicated to the cause of the children. Unlike official machinery, which conduct raids in households and eateries randomly, the volunteers of Azaad Bachpan have worked out an elaborate plan of action and use their own network, consisting of school and neighbourhood friends, to find out the details of the households which have employed child labour. These volunteers, while going to and coming back from their schools, also try to locate the eateries which are taking services of children.
