He successfully made reforms in the various departments and due to his strict attitude towards employees and professors/readers/lecturers he attracted censure from the political lobby. During his tenure Patna University has seen many positive changes like proper following of academic calender, mandatory attendance for both teachers and students and non-teaching staffs as well. He took strong action against anti-social activities that is being run from the university premises. Talking to our correspondent many student expressed their disappointment over dismissal of Shimadri. Rajiv kumar of BBA said that Dr. Shimadri has started 16 professional courses and personnaly monitoring them for their timely completion. He also made possible university exams a neat-n-clean affair. "He did a lot to the university and his work will be remembered for long, even his opponent feel this", said Dr. Kumar, Professor in Dep. of Economics.
