It is important to recall that during the protest, the protesters blocked the traffic causing several students to get stuck in traffic and several patients struggled to reach hospital. Referring to this Nitish said there are designated areas in the city for peaceful protest and express disagreement, but when this starts causing trouble to common man, it is the administration’s duty to take stern action in order to control the situation of chaos.Nitish said, the administration had made efforts for a negotiation with Asha health workers which was turned down and when some anti-social elements in the protest started to attack the administration, the police was forced to use tear gas and water canon. He denied the charges of lathi charge on protesters.Asha health workers are not govt employees rather govt gives them stipend only, Nitish added.
