Setback To Anand Mohan

Updated on 24 November, 2007
A two men bench of Patna High Court comprising Justice Ghanshyam Prasad and Justice Shyam Kishore Sharma rejected the bail petition against the lower court judgement to award them capital punishment. However the division bench admits the plea against putting them in solitary confinemt when the defence counsels referred to The Supreme Court's judgement in Sunil Batr's case. With a reference to Sunil Batr's case defence counsels argued that unless the final judgement comes in from a high court, the capital punishment convicts should not be put in solitary confinement. With the arguments, the division bench maintained that former MP Anand Mohan and former MLA Arun Kumar Sinha should provided the applicable facility in jail.
