Bandh Affects Train Services

Howra bound 3006 Amritsar-Howra mail escaped a major accident which passed the blown railway tracks just minutes before. It is suspected that the blast was triggered by remote control as a few meters of wire has been recovered from the site.Following the blast several trains were stopped on various railway stations. However the restoration work was initiated at 8 am in the morning and by 11.30 the down line again got operational.In majority Bandh resulted in a mixed response while loading and unloading work in mine areas severely affected as transporters preferred to keep off the roads. The urban areas remain unaffected in majority with long distance bus services cancelled during the 48 hour Bandh.
