Chaos On Patna Junction

Updated on 14 November, 2007
Surprisingly there was no railway attendant to prevent such situation despite the fact of the recent stampede like situation at Mughalsarai station in which several passengers were killed. The stampede situation was caused due to arrival of four trains simultaneously. In the morning at 6.45 am Hatia-Patna express arrived on platform number 9 which is followed by arrival of Ganga-Damodar Express at platform number 9. Other trains were standing on platform number 5 and platform number 6.Several passengers had to wait to come out of the station due to stampede like situation and neither railway officials nor RPF staff on duty helped harassed passengers. The railway officials said the trains arrived at the same time as per the directives of Danapur control however the railways will be extra careful in future to avoid such situations.
