Mahabodhi Tree In Danger

The Mahabodhi tree is considered to be the sixth generation of the original peepal tree under which Budha got enlightenment of "Madhyam Marg". Scientists from Rajendra Agriculture University (RAU) have been trying to restore the health of The Mahabodhi tree for past several years.Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar has taken initiative in order to restore The Mahabodhi tree. The sate govt requested scientists of the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun fro further investigation. A team of scientists from Forest Research Institute, Dehradun had collected samples and they have submitted their report to the state govt with their suggested treatments.After the reports of Forest Research Institute, Mahabodhi Temple Management Committee is to undertake necessary measures in order to preserve the tree.
