Patna Engineer Killed At Delhi Airport
Updated on 23 October, 2007
Prima facie it seems to be a case of hit and run in which the van driver tramped the vehicle over her and ran away. While the postmortem report also suggests that she died because of an accident, family and friends of Shansruti suspects of some foul behind the killing. Despite what came out as prima facie, we are investigating other angles," said Aditya Arya, joint commissioner of police (operations). She was a resident of Patna and working as an engineer for the last few years. Her family here in Patna stays at MitraMandal Colony in Phulwarisharif. It was her colleague-cum-friend Rumet Chitra who made the call to her father and her suspicion about some misdoings as Shansruti was traceless after 9:45 since she went to hangar. It came as a shock to her family here following which her father called her all friends in Delhi to find the realities. His all attempt to get the facts from airport authority went into vain as nobody responds him properly. An hour later at 12 in night he received a call from security officials of airport that Shansruti was killed by a moving van at runways. The case warrants more suspicion as it was her engagement on 24th October in Patna and was about to leave for Patna after the Monday duty as her engagements were set on Wednesday in Patna. Her leave application has also been sanctioned and everyone among his colleague knew this fact. Knowingly, she belongs to a very educated and honourable family as her father Arun Kumar Sinha is HoD in J.J.College, Bihta while her mother Shila Ambastha is the Principal in B.N.Collegiate Inter School in Patna. They do not rule out the possibility of her engagement being the reason behind her murder. "There may be many reason but what can we say sitting here in Patna, but definately there are some foul play as the airport officials were too unwilling in giving him full information", said Arun Sinha. Is It an Accident:The maximum allowed speed at runways of all national and international airport is 15 to 20 kms. Is it believable that at such low speed the driver did not see the women in front of the vehicle?Shrusanthi was in specific special uniform that is meant for staffs on night duty on runways for better appearance. Even then how could the driver failed to see her.If it is just the another case of hit and run how the airport management failed to check or either identify the said vehicle, knowingly the vehicle to the entry and exit at runways have to pass through manned checkpost and allowed only after verification. At 9:45 she was received a call to report to duty and at 9:55 her wrist watch get stopped.Airport staff took about 75 minutes to find to confirm her death and was unwilling to convey messages to her parents.
