State Remembers First Chief Minister

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were the first among the state prominents who garlanded the statue and present his honour to the first CM. Mr. K.B.Verma, chief secretary of Governor R.S.Gawai has represented the state first citizen at the occassion. Ex chief minister and Congress leader Dr. Jaggannath Mishra were also present in the state function in secretariate premises. Ex-MP Dr. C.P. Thakur, veteran Congress leader L.P.Shahi and were some known personality from the congress camp who presented their honour to mr. singh. Knowingly the first CM of Bihar, Sri Krishna Singh were the leading face of Congress in Bihar and it is him whose maverick leadership that enthrusted the party to power in bihar for the first time post independence.As the Chief Minister, Dr. Sri Krishna Singh served Bihar continuously from 1946 to 1961. He was always interested in self study and his ideas and speeches were noted for their wisdom. He was a staunch opponent of casteism and always rose in defence of the oppressed.State Cultural Department had organised a theme show on the occassion. Childrens participated in the function and marks the occassion with colorful and vibrant shows.
