Pakistan Embroils Into Equation Of D3 And P3
Updated on 19 October, 2007
Benazir Bhutto, Kulsoom Sharif and Zeba Musharraf the trio of pakistani women front likely to twinkle most in the pakistan's political skyline. With the announcement of General election the political activity witnessed the natural pace across Pakistan. But the latest development in Pakistan has helped develop a new wave of current in the already storming session where the country was finding it tough to bring peace and tranquility back at home.As the election is jst a few weeks ahead the Judgement of Pakistan's apex court allowing Musharraf to don the uniform all during election has make a serious question and It also shows the debility of the court. On 29th Sep thousands of lawyers across the country demonstrated in front of Election Commission of Pakistan who earlier accepts the Musharraf's nomination for the election ahead.Meanwhile PPP President and ex-prime Minister Mrs. Benazir Bhutto admission about her secret meeting with Pakistan Army Chief and President Musharraf (which she had been continuously denying since media report come into light last months) has complex the matter to yet another angle. Moreover on Saturday Mrs. Bhutto seems convincing the people of pakistan that she won't have any objection Mr. Musharraf being President if she be given opportunity to sit on PM's chair. Does it have any logic itself. This statement may prove a drastic one to the political ambition of Mrs.Bhutto and definately will be termed as an immatured political statement in days to come. It also shows that Mrs. Bhutto is neither sensitive to the Pakistani people nor serious enough to bring the democratic institution back to rail in Pakistan. Mr. Shaukat Aziz's inevitable reaction denying his role in Nawaz's deportment right from the Islamabad International Airport warrant some scepticism. Though witty enough he meticuosly deny charges and informed media that Mr. Nawaz's were offered two option of getting arrest or exiled at the airport and Nawaz chose the later.Knowingly October 12, 1999 is a day that witnessed another blot on the already embrassed democratic texture of Pakistan when the Chief-of-Army Parvez Musharraf ousted the civilian government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and forced Sharif to take refuge in Saudi Arabia under an ambiguous agreement. The Sharif govt. was in full majority then and won more seats than ever. Before this Mrs. Bhutto were on a self-exile with charges of corruption and embezzlement of public money, took refuge in Britain and Dubai for all long years. It has been very unfortunate for the people in general and politicians that they don't know their fate despite being following the rules and norms. Everyone in Pakistan strongly believes that not even a ghost of a chance to attain real power (even after winning electorally) for Mrs. Bhutto unless Musharraf leaves go of his stripes. The recent statement from the PPP chairperson is enough itself definite to warrant losing public confidence in her. People do hate Mushraff and do blame him for every crisis in pakistan since his onset as the ruler. Mrs. Bhutto admission of a hidden meeting with the man in uniform has a lot of story to say in itself. Any one with a bit of sense would make oblique and objection on her sincerity to bring democracy back to nation. With the affront rejection of Nawaz Sharif to the national border has helped ajared the doors of political opportunity to Benazir and her maverick ability to recognize and manicured it in her favour seemed too promising for her political career ahead. But her friday's move is nothing but demonstration of democratic debility and immature move by P3 (Pakistan People Party).Columnist : S. Amit, Patna with Inputs from Aditi Chhaya & Kumar Nitin
