Updated on 19 October, 2007
While the capital city is all set to welcome the devotees of Maa Durga and visitors, there are multitude of variants in respect of pose of idols being seen this time. Some puja pundals have idols with a classical Bengali look some have tried with golden and silverising the idols. In Kadamkuan area of the city some pundals have comical strips too beside the Maa's idol to attract the visitors. Cartoons elucidating the current political scene at UPA - Left mull over the issue of nuclear deal has been attracting great numbers of visitors at Kadamkuan, Doman Bhagat lane pundal. As the Puja enters into the seventh day most of the pundals has been opened for devotees. Later in the evening some roads like Machchuatoli, Bakerganj, Bari Path and Patna city were seen crowded enough that no vehicle were entering these roads. While under the special traffic arrangements for puja some roads have been allowed only for pedestrians and some were allowed traffic movement from one way only. There seems a tough competition between Dakbunglow and pundals at boring road crossing as each of them have a grand, spacious pundals and idols of Maa with great heights.
