Police Heavily Lathicharges Students

The secretariate police did't allow them to enter the high security area by closing down the Iron gate at R-Block Crossing and kept a strict vigil from the opposite side. Thousands of demonstrator and policemen were seen standing on the either side of the gate for hours. All of a sudden some demonstrating youth starts pelting stones on the other side at police party. Rest of the demonstrator followed the  leading to injuries to some policemen on the other side. This was enought to sparked the impatience and police resorted to lathicharge.More than a dozen demonstrator got serious injuries who were admitted to hospitals later. Some constable also get light injuries in stone pelting by the agitating mob.Later in the evening the Secretariate police released 16 of the arrested member of the AIYF. All India Students Federation were also participated in the demonstration and its leasder Pramod kumar alleged the police party to cruelly beating their members. The police lathicharges us like they were beating animals, even women members were beaten harshly, said one injured member of AIYF.RJD leader and ex-Power minister Shyam Rajak has condemned the police action and said the police action as anti-democratic.
