Vishal Megamart Goons Beat Mediamen

While they were gathered trying to understand the happenings, the Mart. Mart manager call in On Monday goons from Vishal Megamart having its showroom at Fraser Road caught some mediamen  and beaten them brutally on Fraser road. The mediamen  went there to cover the news of a fire-broke out in the showroom. ETV journalist NeelKamal and Neerajan kumar from AajTak were beaten by the goons. AS the incident occurs at the heart of patna the news spread like wildfire and within 7-8 minutes every journalist, cameraman and other media person were present at the spot. Without any thought the police assorted to lathicharge on the group of journalist who were gathered before the mart. The lathicharge aggravated the journalist and the situation turns hostile. Though the journalist did neither harm any property nor went beyond limits the insensible "lathicharge" by police was enough to test their patience. Two more media persons were injured and seen bleeding in the insensible lathicharge by police. The journalist turn hostile and made every senior police official to the scene including SSP Kundan Krishnan. Despita many appeal from the SSP the journalist sit on Dharna demanded arrest of all 60 employees of the mart including the mart Manager Manoj Kumar. Mediamen sit on road right there chants slogans demanding closure of the Showroom. This is a grave mistake and may prove a nail in the coffin of state administration in patna. Knowing that the next two building to the site is the center of journalism in the state as Times of India, NDTV 24*7 and TimesNow have their offices.
