Centre abandons to probe Kusha Breach Print E-mail

On Tuesday, the central govt. restrained from its earlier stand of setting a high level probe in Kusaha Dam breach which caused more than 2 lacs of people affected and several hundreds of people homeless. It was announced at a press release by the Union Water Resources Ministry on Tuesday.

Maharashtra Doctor Dies in Supaul
On Sunday night, a doctor from Maharashtra Dr. Chandrakant Patil died in Kataiya village in Koshi affected Supaul district. Dr. Patil was of 25. Dr. Patil got stuck in lightening who has come to Bihar in the 40 member team who volunteered in several flood affected areas in Bihar.

On Monday the State Information Commission fined an executive engineer for violation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act. The executive engineer of Bhagalpur will have to pay a penalty of Rs 25000. The penalty amount would be deducted form the engineer’s salary.

On Saturday,  Shabana Azmi noted film actress and social activist advocated for psychological counseling for the flood victims in the recent devastated flood in the north Bihar.  Shabana Azmi was talking to reporters in Patna. She said the experiences of the flood-victims could have been so traumatic that could lead them to live with the fine-prints of the same to the whole life what they have experienced. This could be so detrimental sociaologically and could result in psychological effects.

Bihar Flood Aid
Aid to recent flood devastation is emerging from all sorts of corner despite personal or political differences to provide shelter, food and other releif items to the nearly 3 lac people affected due to the “Pralay” like flood in north Bihar.

In its next chain, the Bihar Foundation has sent a team of doctors in the flood affected areas of North Bihar. The tead comprises of Dr. Rajay Narain, Secretary, Bihar Foundation, Dr. Bimal Karak, National Coordinator, India, and Mr D. Verma, also a Bihar Coordinator. The team of doctors visited the flood hit areas in order to analyze the situation so that the appropriate action could be taken.

On Saturday, Area Sales Manager of Nakshatra Diamond Jewelers, Sunil Kumar was shot dead by armed criminals. 32 year old Sunil Kumar was working with Nakshatra Diamond Jewelers located at Harniwas Complex on Dak Bungalow Road.
The incident took place while Kumar was returning home at around 10.30 pm when he was stopped by the criminals rided on motorcycles near Sipara bridge.

On Friday, the fast track court in its verdict awarded death sentence to Shankar Sao, an accused in the  Papiya Ghosh murder case. Papiya Ghosh was working as a professor in Patna University who was brutally killed on Decmber 3, 2006.
