Ustad Zakir Hussain In Patna
World famous tabla maestro Ustad Jakir Hussain was in a day-long visit to Patna on friday. He was much impressed from the audience and promised them to visit again . He said to the audience that he visited this historical city after a long time span of 20 years when he was just 15 years old to perform near Patna junction on the occassion of Dussehra.
The exponent who got tabla to the centre stage was born on 9 March 1951. Trained by his father, Ustad Alah Rakha, who traces his lineage to the Punjab Gharana, Zakir Hussain accompanied Pandit Ravi Shankar at a very young age.

NIIT starts MindChampiom Academy in Patna
On Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi inaugurated the NIIT's MindChampiom Academy. On the inauguration ceremony held at the Patna Planetorium the world chess champion, Vishwanathan Anand was also present. The academy is an initiative by NIIT to encourage the children to the game of chess.
