Amit Of Bihar Rocks In IPL-2009
No one would imagine in his wildest dream that a simple, ordinary and introvert middle class boy from the naxal affected Rohtas district of Bihar would become the star of the sports tabloid across the world. Amit Kumar, bowler from Shilpa Shetty's Rajasthan Royals team has becoming the center of attention as in the currently running Twenty20 IPL-2009 championship this chap continuously proving himself as "Match-Turner" helping his team treading to win the championship.
On thursday in an important match between Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore Royals. Amit has taken 4 wicket in just a spell of four over. The bowling was so cunning that even the best of batsman failed to answer and total of only 19 runs could be collected in 4 of his over. He won the "Man of the Match". Earlier in a match against Kings XI Punjab he took 3 important wickets and directed their best of batsman like Yuvraj Singh, A.Goyal and K.Sohail to pavillion.
Son of a lower-middle class family in a far flung village in Rohtas district of Bihar, Amit is the youngest son of Mr. Ramgovind Singh, a retired Flight-Lieutenant of Indian Air Force. At present Amit is working as a senior manager in Idea Mobile in Ahmedabad. He do also plays for Gujrat Ranji. The major sport telecast channel ESPN has also credited the "Bowlership Championship Award" for the year 2003. In the year 2001 he won the best bowler award from All India University Cricket Championship.
