CM happy to annonce revival of Nalanda University Print E-mail

Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar happily announced the international co operation for Nalanda International University (NIU) project. This has been referred in the joint declaration made by the Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe and Indian Prime minister Manmohan Singh.

CM Nitish Kumar met Abe on Wednesday in New Delhi. The meeting resulted in the declaration of the Japanese assistance for Nalanda International University. Nalanda University, among one of the oldest educational center in Indian history will be revived to its old fame with the establishment of Nalanda International University.

 On Thursday, Nitish said , the cabinet approved the appointment of former President APJ Abdul Kalam as first Visitor of NIU. The state legislature has already passed The University of Nalanda Act which was formally approved by the state cabinet.

"I am confident that the university will start functioning very soon and the students from here will no longer need to go outside," the confident CM further added.
