Flood of Funds To Fight The Flood
Magadh University VC B.N. Pandey has made a mark to follow as he announced to donate his two months' salary to the flood victims. He made opened account in Central Bank, in name of this fund where people from outside can also make donations. Pandey said the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university had also announced to donate their one-day salary to this fund.
Even the Bihar Pensioners' Society in Patna are come forward to the help of Flood victims and arged their members to donate one day pension to this noble cause.

Though there is an alarming need that rescue, rehabilitation and reconstruction work to be done in the flood-ravaged districts on a massive scale, it is very pathetic that still after 11 days of rampage the relief could not reach its destination. "It is first task which need to be taken up and for this no stone should be left unturned," said secretary of an NGO working in flood affected district of Madhepura.
In a survey organised by ZEE NEWs group followed by other media channels 98% people do believe that govt. efforts are too small keeping the size of devastation.  The disaster management during flood time should be at par with what was done at the time of earthquakes at Latur and Bhuj in Gujarat and the tsunami-hit coastal areas. The flood toll rises to 100 though officially it is 62 by now.
 
Passengers Drugged, Looted In Train Print E-mail

A total of 11 passengers were drugged and looted in patna bound Delhi-Patna Jansadharan Express. The Railway Protection Force men rescued them and send to Danapur Railway Hospital for treatment. The incident made happend by a group of miscreants when the train were crossing Allahabad Junction.
According to the railway police, the drugged passengers were identified as Ravindra (Chapra), Chhote Lal (Chapra) ,Santosh Kumar (Bhojpur), Ibrar (Buxar), Parvez Alam (Arwal), Ravi Shankar (Jehanabad), Surendra Singh (Sasaram), Ranjit Pandit (Sitamarhi) Bishwanath Prasad (Madhubani), Kalamuddin (Muzaffarpur) and Nawan Paswan (Samastipur).

At least 25 people are reported missing ever since a relief-boat of Army carrying them capsized mid-stream in the high current of terbulent river Koshi. A total of about 60 persons were on the ill-fated boats out of which 35 has been flown to safe or saved by army men. The incident took place near Murliganj village in Madhepura district on friday evening about 5.30 pm.

He assured that the Koshi issue will be taken up with Nepal. With his intervention a team of Indian engineer started work in Nepal to settle the major breach which has been reportedly widen up to 2.8 kms. on thursday. Kosi river in the Himalayan country which triggered the deluge, "A three kilometre barrage over the Koshi river in Nepal is damaged", he was informed. Koshi river has changed its course and made a "V". subsequently Over twenty lakhs people surrounded in this natural action

Unbridled Koshi Ready To Sink More Districts
On wednesday, the days count to 10th when the turbulent Koshi breached the eastern afflux bund at Kusaha in Nepal on 16th. Following which the severely damage the barriage taking the fissure to approx. three kms.consequently bring catastrophe-like havoc in almost 10 districts. While Supaul, Saharasa, Araria and Madhepura districts are worst hit, water has also played in Purnia, Katihar, Samastipur and Begusarai. Purnia is under threat now and the koshi may shallow the entire district. The mood of the turbulent koshi seems searching for new swathes of lands moving southwards.

Patna: Six run over by truck, four killed
A speeding truck loses balance and ran over pavements on wednesday night. Four persons who were sleeping on the pavements were dead on the spot while the other two get critical injuries fighting for life in PMCH.
The accident occurred past midnight when a stonechip-laden truck crushed a group of labourers sleeping on the pavement at R-block roundabout under Secretariat police station of the state capital, police said.
