The experts suggested 5 different options as an alternative for Setusamudran Project without affecting the Ram Setu. Still the govt is stick to the Setusamudran Project with its current strategy through passing through Ramsetu. This reveals the intentions of UPA govt. Recently DMK supremo, Karunanidhi an ally in the UPA govt. posed Lord Ram as an illusion character and denied the existence of Lord Ram. He said 17 lacs years ago there was a Ram, what is the proof of this. Can Karunanidhi give proof of air? Can he see the air? Can he touch the air? If he can’t provide proofs and believes what he is breathing is air. Why can’t we believe in Lord Ram who is part of every day life?

The cultural minister put the blame of the error in the affidavit on law ministry. She said while the affidavit was prepared, there was nothing like this in the affidavit and it was added by a DMK minister. The statement by a responsible minister in the govt points to a pre-designed and pre-prepared gimmick to hurt the sentiments of Hindu community.

The statements by Karunanidhi don’t imply that this is a matter related to North and South. Former Prime Minister H. D. Devgauda also belongs to South in a statement said Ram cannot be posed as an illusion character rather there are numerous proofs of Lord Ram's existence. It is Karunanidhi who sees Ram as an illusion character. Karunanidhi who always plays the politics of Aarya - Dravid and North - South seems to be frightened with the unity of North and South on Lord Ram and Ramsetu issue and he is playing once again the dirty politics to retain his influence in Tamilnadu.

The Congress stand is also strange. Congress is the leader in UPA. Despite Congress says "after intervention of Smt. Sonia Gandhi on controversial affidavit, the govt taken back the affidavit.", its ally DMK repeatedly quotes controversial statements to hurt Hindu community. Does this mean Congress has lost its control in UPA or Congress is playing a secret role behind the scene? However Congress was never clear on Ram issue. It never clears its stand whether it is the matter of Ram Janmabhumi issue, Ram Janmabhumi inauguration. Congress always put it on yes-no dilemma however when the time came to take political advantage, it always tried to eat the baked cake.

Now the time has come to let the Congress clear its stand. If it believes in Lord Ram, Congress must go for alternatives proposed by the experts. If the Congress sticks to its current project plan, the Congress has no right to say that the affidavit was prepared in error and the Congress should accept its dual character in stead of pointing finger to the existence of Lord Ram.
