Patna Ranked 7th Best City Of N.India
Patna has been placed in the list of 20 best city of north India. With getting the 7th rank it beatens Jaipur, Agra and even Gurgaon. Cities like Ranchi, Allahabad, Kota, Bhopal, Raipur and Indore has been placed far behind Patna. The next door city and once summer capital of Bihar i.e. Ranchi could find place at 15th rank. Famous Hindi magazine "India Today" has released this list in its latest edition.The list has been prepared by the help of National Council of Applied Economic Research. Chandigarh tops the list and NOIDA gets 2nd position.


According to NCAER Patna has been risen to national map rapidly. The research team recognized the surge in economic happening in the state capital. There are great changes in terms of infrastructure development and big names of corporate world has their offices in Patna now. The cunsuming habits has been changed as people likes branded products. There purchasing power also strengthened. These truth also comes relieve with endorcement of economic survey report 2007-08. The GDP here is 31,441 rupees while per capita savings is 675 rupees. Patnaites do spent rupees 674 and rupees 5633 on education and health services respectively.

The report corroborates the significant growth story of real estate business. Banking, Insurance, Finance, telecom and coaching institutes are d oing great businesses here in a free, fair and fearless enviroment which created demand for office and business space. Some big names like "Patliputra Builders" has taken full advantage and now making shopping malls in the city on line of what you see in Mumbai and Delhi. In the last one year alone there is business of about 10 lakh sq. feet construction.

Though patna has poor state of Electricity, Water and public transport still the economic development is surprisingly high. The report specifies that with the onset of Nitish govt the growth story has completely changed and there is a sense of security and governance in business establishment here.

One thing that is surprising is that about 46 percent people here are salaried class which is more than that of Jaipur and Chandigarh together. 25 percent of populatio here do depend on self-employment.

The report realises that people here prefer life security and health compared to luxuries of life. While 57% of family here having life insurance, just 47 percent of families have color television. While just 10 percent of them having computers. The report also says that the sell of computer here is rather low right because of migration of students from the state which is still on the go.
