Road Construction Department has sketched a plan for a complete makeover of AR. From the making of appropriate drainage & waste water channel to making of Footpath for pedestrian is included in the plan. The depart. seems commited to handle the encroacher with a tough stance this time. The department sources says that the existing width of AR is sufficient and there is no need to widen the roads. "It is encroachers who has shrinked the road but once the work begin we will clear the all temporary and permanent structures that has been erupted on roads", said a seniour official in the department.The road also play role and cater to the needs of inter-city traffic to some extend considering auto-ricksaw plying from Gandhi Maidan to Patna City. This share of inter city traffic has damaged this road to maximum extent. While the intra city traffic is mainly for the University & PMCH and mostly light vehicles do roam, the road being a throughfare to Patna City makes a punch in its belly.
