Mahatma Statue Comes To Patna
The statue of "Father of the Nation", Mahatma Gandhi that is planned to be erected at the north-west corner of the gandhi maidan has reached Patna by truck in multiple pieces.
The 40 foot tall, and 30 tonne of weigh cost almost 5 crore rupees. There is a speacial pedestal being made to bear the load of the weighty statue.
The statue is made of pure copper. The Noida based artisan, who also made the statue of the mauritian leader "Ramgulam" were given the assignment.
Earlier it was to be inaugurated on the occasion of the last b'day of Mahatma, but due to technical reason the project has been delayed.
Now the next date chosen by the authority is on 30th January, the death anniversary of Mahatma. But the administration seem to be in a fix as veteral social crusader Anna Hazare is going to launch the "Jankranti" from the same gandhi maidan on the same day.
