No Booking On Sunday Second Session: Rail Emp. Union

The special reservation counter opened at Patna Junction to facilitate the passengers who comes for booking on the second session on Sunday. By this, Patna junction  became the first spot giving such facility. Across the country and 16 divisions of the Railway we are the first with such unique move, says R.K.Singh, PRO at Patna Junction.  We have started this on a trial basis at Patna Junction, success of which will help bring the same facilities at other stations too. Two booking counters numbered 13 and 14 at the main reservation building on the first floor has been selected for serving the purpose says senior DCM, A.K.Rajak.

But the railway administration got a major setback from its employee itself as a large number of railway employees under the banner of ECRKU(East Central Railway Karmchari Union) forcibly entered into the reservation office premises and shouted slogans against the railway administration and the DRM. Though security personnel from RPF appeared at the scene and prevented any damages to the property. Within couple of minutes the demonstrating supporters of ECRKU forcibly entered into the reserved area and disrupted the booking clerk by not letting them do more bookings. 

Overall the counter could not remained open for more than 10 minutes and the booking could not touch the double digit figure. Some reservation clerks were also part of the demonstrating team. Talking to xpress Group correspondent the union leader of ECRKU Sunil Kumar claims that the railway administration is just doing such steps for its publicity. He said that 5-6 counters at this booking premises is always found closed due to lack of man power. Instead of recruiting staffs to run the existing infrastructure to its full capacity the Danapur division seems to more concerned for its. M.N.Vajpayee, the senior leader of the union demanded the facility of one booking counter reserved for railways employee which has been assigned to agents for the last 7-8  months.
