Blood Donation Camp By SBI

To mark the celebration of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary the zonal office of State Bank of India, Patna has organized a blood donation camp. More than 2 dozens Officers of various ranks of SBI participated in the camp and donated their blood. 'An awareness program ahead of this camp has been quite instrumental in the success of today's camp, said the president of the SBI Officers Association Mr. Ashok Akhauri'. The veteran Lion's club of Patna played a vital role in the event which provided Doctors, Nurses, medical assistance and other instruments required at the blood donation camp. In the camp which organised at its zonal office premises at Judge's court road. check-up of blood pressure, blood-Sugar and some other tests were provided free of cost for the donors. Lions Dr. Subodh kumar Singh, who does take care of Lions' Blood Bank situated in the premises of Mahavir Cancer Institute at PhulwariSharif in Patna helps make this event a successful one. The blood bank issues a 'Donor Card'  to each donor which helps them get blood of any group at time of emergency. Talking to our correspondent S.Amit, Lions Dr. Shailesh Kr. Sinha, said 'All blood collected here will be tested for HIV, Hepatitis B,c, Malaria, VDRL etc. right before refrigerating them for further use. At our center all collection is kept in vibration free refrigerator and hence so the blood remains useful for 6 weeks as per universal standard'.
